The President of Turkmenistan received the Chairman of the Japanese-Turkmen Committee for Economic Cooperation

On December 16, 2024, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Member of the Board of Directors, Executive Vice President of Itochu Corporation, President of Machinery and Equipment, Chairman of the Japanese-Turkmen Committee for Economic Cooperation Hiroyuki Tsubai.

Expressing gratitude for the time allocated for the meeting, the Chairman of the Japanese-Turkmen Committee for Economic Cooperation stressed the high interest of Japanese business circles in working in the Turkmen market, where a favorable investment climate and all necessary conditions for productive activities have been created.

Taking the opportunity, Hiroyuki Tsubai also expressed his best wishes to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, who has made a great personal contribution to the development of Turkmen-Japanese relations.

Expressing gratitude for the good wishes, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the next 15th meeting of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation, which will be held within the framework of the guest’s current visit, will serve as an impetus for enhancing bilateral economic ties. Taking the opportunity, the head of state also wished the meeting a success.

As it was noted during the meeting, Turkmenistan and Japan successfully cooperate not only in bilateral but also in multilateral format – within the framework of the dialogue «Central Asia + Japan». Currently, bilateral relations include political-diplomatic, trade-economic, social, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.

One of the priority areas of partnership between Turkmenistan and Japan is trade and economic ties. Over the years, our country has accumulated positive experience in working with major Japanese companies in the gas and chemical industries. The Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation plays a major role in this.

As is known, next year Japan will host the «World Expo 2025», the head of state said. Underlining that a special Organizing Committee has been set up in Turkmenistan to participate in the Global Forum and relevant preparations are underway, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took the opportunity to wish the World Expo a success.

At the end of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and a member of the Board of Directors, Executive Vice President of Itochu Corporation, Chairman of the Japanese-Turkmen Committee for Economic Cooperation exchanged mutual wishes for good health and success.
