On March 18, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) Dimitri Kerkentzes.

Having expressed sincere gratitude to the head of state for the time devoted to him and the opportunity to discuss current issues of cooperation in a personal conversation, the guest emphasized the continued interest of the BIE in expanding the traditional partnership with our country and, taking this opportunity, noted the high level of organization of the exhibition held in the capital on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the founding of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.

Having warmly welcomed the Secretary General of the BIE, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that within the framework of his visit to our country, Dimitri Kerkentzes is expected to participate in high-level meetings, as well as in the next meeting of the Administrative and Budgetary Committee of the International Exhibitions Bureau. In this regard, a strong belief was expressed that this will contribute to further strengthening of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the BIE.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of international exhibitions in the development of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation and global economic activity.

Our country is implementing programmatic work to expand cooperation with foreign countries. In accordance with the "Concept of International Exhibition Activities of Turkmenistan for 2024-2025", great importance is attached to the development of effective ties with the International Exhibitions Bureau.

Turkmenistan, being a member of this organization, takes an active part in world and specialized exhibitions held in various countries.

As is known, in April this year, the World Exhibition EXPO-2025 will be held in Osaka (Japan), organized by the International Exhibitions Bureau. The head of state assured that Turkmenistan will take an active part in this large-scale international show and expressed his wishes for the successful holding of the upcoming event.

At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, having confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to continue holding exhibitions of international significance and aimed at global development, to strengthen fruitful cooperation in this area, wished the Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau Dimitri Kerkentzes success in his work.
