The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who is on a visit to our country, during which the development of interstate relations was discussed.

During the bilateral meeting, the parties touched upon promising areas for further cooperation.

An exchange of views also took place on international and regional issues of mutual interest, in particular, on the current situation in the Middle East.

Taking this opportunity, the guest conveyed warm greetings from the leadership of his country to the President of Turkmenistan, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero Arkadag, and expressed deep gratitude for the fraternal solidarity shown with the people of Iran and the provision of humanitarian aid during this difficult period.

Turkmenistan, committed to the policy of permanent neutrality, develops friendly and fraternal relations with all countries of the world based on goodwill and trust. Large-scale initiatives initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, aimed at the benefit of all humanity, are successfully continued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

From the first day of the difficult situation in the Middle East region, caused by the tense situation between Israel and Iran, Turkmenistan, as a state with the status of permanent neutrality three times confirmed by the relevant resolutions of the United Nations, declared that it does not support the use of force or other threats under any circumstances. In this context, during the meeting, the need to use a wide range of political and diplomatic means to resolve any difficult situation peacefully, based solely on the UN Charter and generally recognised norms of international law was especially emphasised.

In this regard, the Turkmen side expressed its readiness to participate in the settlement of the current situation in the Middle East through dialogue with all interested parties, adhering to the principles of peaceful resolution of any international issues, in order to achieve peace as soon as possible and ensure security and stability in this region.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed gratitude to fraternal Turkmenistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero Arkadag for their continued support and expressed readiness to actively continue constructive negotiations with the Turkmen side.

As the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran noted, the Turkmen-Iranian partnership is fruitful. During the talks, the parties, having discussed in detail the important aspects of cooperation, noted that Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to develop friendly and fraternal relations, support each other and consistently strengthen long-term ties.
