On the 24^th of June, 2025, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during which the parties exchanged views on a wide range of areas. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The heads of the foreign ministries discussed key aspects of partnership in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The parties agreed to meet in the near future and hold bilateral annual consultations.

The diplomats discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest, in particular, the situation that has recently developed in the Middle East region was touched upon.

It was once again emphasised that Turkmenistan, relying on broad support from the world community for its neutral status, is firmly committed to the principles of preventive diplomacy and is confident in the effectiveness of diplomatic methods in resolving any international issues.

During the conversation, the strategy for further cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States was discussed.
