Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to Balkan velayat to review the preparations for the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, ensuring its high-level organization.
Symbolically, as the head of state's aircraft flew towards Turkmenbashi, it passed over the city of Arkadag, built on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and unparalleled in the region. This coincided with the opening ceremony of a new avenue and a modern bridge in Arkadag city, commissioned with the blessing of Hero-Arkadag.
Participants in the event offered prayers for the success of Arkadagly Hero Serdar in his state activities. The enthusiastic words of cheerful children transformed into a melody celebrating a happy epoch. The initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, for the modernization of the transport and communication sector are successfully being implemented in a new historical epoch under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
In the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, significant importance is attached to the comprehensive development of the transport system. This creates favorable conditions for activating Turkmenistan's transport and transit corridors, strategically located at an important crossroads of trade routes between Europe and Asia. The renewal of the country's civil aviation infrastructure and its equipping with the latest technology are integral parts of the large-scale programs being implemented in this sector.
The modernization of Turkmenbashi International Airport based on innovative technologies is a vivid testament to this. It is also worth noting that the airport's passenger terminal, passport control points, and security checkpoints are equipped with the latest technology.
Located in the heart of the Great Silk Road, Turkmenistan is strengthening ties with interested states and authoritative organizations, having accumulated valuable experience in developing new directions for international cooperation. Our country's active interaction with the UN in a promising area such as transport and logistics is linked to its global integration into the world economy.
…Then President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proceeded to the venue of the international forum. The head of state was warmly welcomed there.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov, informed about the work carried out on the complex's territory. In particular, he reported on the landscaping and creation of comfortable conditions for forum participants. All necessary facilities have been provided for guests to fully relax and enjoy walks in the park adjacent to the complex. The service system has also been properly established.
Speaking about the importance of the upcoming international forum, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the decision to host it in our country clearly demonstrates the consistent strengthening of constructive cooperation, which fully meets the interests of universal well-being and progress. In this context, the head of state emphasized that multi-faceted strategic partnership with the UN is one of the priorities of Turkmenistan's foreign policy.
As is known, the Resolution concerning the high-level forum was adopted on April 11 of this year at the 63rd plenary meeting of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly. Fifty-seven states co-sponsored the document.
High-level delegations from landlocked developing countries, as well as other UN member states, heads and representatives of international and regional structures, legislative bodies, financial institutions, public associations, and the private sector are expected to participate in the Conference.
It should be recalled that on July 4, 2025, the head of state signed a Resolution to ensure the organized and high-level conduct of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. Concurrently, an Agreement on the arrangements for the upcoming forum was signed between the Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations.
It should also be noted that the issues of the Conference's organization were thoroughly reviewed at a meeting of the State Organizing Committee, held by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
Notably, numerous political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian events are planned within the framework of the upcoming Conference. All conditions for their high-level organization are provided here.
The holding of another forum on landlocked developing countries in our country testifies to Turkmenistan's constructive resolution of tasks stemming from UN programs, as well as its active participation in coordinating efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. All of this fully demonstrates the successful implementation of Hero-Arkadag's grand initiatives under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar.
