On August 5, 2025, a welcoming ceremony for the participants-delegates of the Third UN Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries was held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

The celebration was attended by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres, Chairman of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly Philemon Young, heads and members of delegations of the countries participating in the forum, leaders and representatives of international structures, and officials of our country.

Addressing the participants of the celebration, the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted that today the delegates of the forum witnessed a historic event held on the magnificent coast of the Caspian Sea in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

Having cordially welcomed in the Turkmen language the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the heads of delegations, and all participants of the celebration to the sunny and hospitable land, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan also noted the special significance of holding the current forum in the International Year of Peace and Trust declared by the United Nations on the initiative of Turkmenistan. In this regard, confidence was expressed that the joint efforts carried out in the system of international relations, large-scale measures in the name of peace, security and sustainable development will yield positive results.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed confidence that an effective exchange of views will take place and positive proposals will be put forward on all aspects of the agenda of the high-level international forum, which is being held for the third time.

Then the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan continued his speech in Russian, one of the official languages of the UN. Once again, on behalf of the people of Turkmenistan, warmly and cordially welcoming those gathered, the National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed gratitude to everyone for participating in the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

We perceive such a broad representation at this Forum as a sign of respect for Turkmenistan, trust and high appreciation of the role of our country in the international arena, its efforts in establishing cooperation and mutual understanding, - emphasized the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

– We welcome all of you, esteemed participants of the Forum, on Turkmen soil as dear and welcome guests, like-minded people and partners of Turkmenistan, united by the high goals of peace, progress and prosperity on the planet.

As noted, holding the current Conference is entirely logical and deeply justified. It is an organic part of the large, serious work carried out by our countries over many years and aimed at increasing the role of developing countries in global processes, drawing attention to their problems and legitimate interests, and ensuring a worthy place in the modern world order.
