The President of Turkmenistan held talks with the Vice President of the Republic of Gambia

On August 6, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Vice President of the Republic of Gambia Mohammed Jallow, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

Having warmly welcomed the distinguished guest, the head of state expressed gratitude for participation in the Third UN Conference on LLDCs and noted that this large-scale event will contribute to the effective implementation of the Avaza Action Programme in the interests of these countries.

Having expressed sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the warm welcome extended to him, the guest noted the importance of the Avaza National Tourist Zone as a center for holding major international events.

As was emphasized during the meeting, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of friendly and mutually beneficial relations with various countries, including African states. In this regard, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed our country's readiness to develop political, diplomatic, trade and economic ties with the Republic of Gambia.

Noting that within the framework of the Conference the distinguished guest will have the opportunity to meet with official representatives of Turkmenistan, as well as receive extensive information about the economic achievements of our country, the President of the country wished him a successful visit.

The head of state emphasized that there is currently great potential for expanding cooperation and exchanging experience in the energy, chemical industry, agriculture, healthcare and education sectors. In addition, humanitarian ties play a significant role in strengthening interstate contacts, bringing peoples closer together and enriching cultures.

In this regard, the head of state expressed our country’s readiness to support initiatives and proposals for the development of relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Gambia.

Stressing the importance of expanding cultural and humanitarian dialogue, the Vice President of Gambia expressed his country’s great interest in cooperation with Turkmenistan in the field of education.

At the end of the meeting, which was held in an atmosphere of mutual respect and openness, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Vice President of the Republic of Gambia Mohammed Jallow exchanged best wishes, reaffirming their commitment to continue cooperation within the framework of global initiatives.
