It goes without saying that each meeting of the Halk Maslahaty, the supreme body of people's power acting in accordance with the Constitution of the country, is a significant event in the socio-political life of Turkmenistan. The upcoming September meeting will be held on the eve of the 34^th anniversary of the country's independence and is marked by the celebration of the 30^th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, which gives the forum special significance.

Since the beginning of its functioning, the supreme body of people's power has identified ensuring a prosperous life for the population as one of its priority and key tasks. And this is quite justified and understandable. Achieving the intended goal depends, first of all, on a stable and developing economy, as well as on other sectors of the national economy, such as agriculture and services.

Social progress has always been and remains the focus of the Halk Maslahaty, this issue has always been given priority attention, since it directly ensures the success and material well-being of people. In all socio-economic Programs and documents discussed at the sessions of the Halk Maslahaty, the focus was on these «three pillars» of progress by 2030: the economy, the social sphere and the environment. It was also obvious that the main factors contributing to the well-being of the population are the country's natural resources, economic diversification, international cooperation and social guarantees.

Today, in accordance with the decisions of the Halk Maslahaty, the country is consistently working to include and adapt the Sustainable Development Goals into national programs, thanks to which great success is achieved in this area. This activity is directly related to social policy and the growth of human potential, increasing well-being and improving the social and living conditions of the population.

As already noted, ensuring a high level of social protection for the country's population is one of the priority tasks of economic development. A significant part of budget funds is directed to social security, which also indicates attention to the concerns of the population. And the successful implementation of the National Program for Socio-Economic Development of the country in 2022-2052 consistently improves people's living conditions. In addition, program decisions to strengthen economic power contribute to the creation of new jobs, ensuring social protection and improving the health and well-being of people.

Currently, Turkmenistan actively continues to implement national and state programs for diversification of the economy and introduction of innovative technologies. The positive results of this work are clearly reflected in large-scale projects that give new impetus to regional and international cooperation. Favourable natural and economic conditions, benefits and advantages for foreign investors open up new opportunities for the country. The country's investment policy is also aimed at improving the quality of life of people.

The work carried out today by the Halk Maslahaty is aimed at forming new, advanced mechanisms for the socio-economic development of the country at a high level, effective management of this process, legislative and legal support, and organisational foundations of executive bodies. There is an understanding that in order to successfully continue the reform policy in various areas in the future, it is necessary to work on new proposals in the planned directions. At the same time, the main goal remains - to ensure a prosperous life for the population and create a comfortable living environment for each person.
