On July 1, 2026, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Yermek Kosherbayev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who arrived in our country on an official visit.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet and the hospitality extended to him in Turkmenistan, the head of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry noted the great importance Kazakhstan attaches to strengthening its traditionally good-neighborly relations with Turkmenistan.

Taking this opportunity, Minister Yermek Kosherbayev conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the head of state and the National Leader of the Turkmen people. The guest also shared his impressions of Ashgabat's architecture.

Noting the importance of the upcoming consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan during the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the head of state expressed confidence that their results would further strengthen the friendly ties between the two countries.

As emphasized, both countries actively cooperate bilaterally, as well as within authoritative international organizations such as the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the Economic Cooperation Organization.

In this regard, the successful coordination of efforts within the framework of consultative meetings of the heads of state of Central Asia and the "Central Asia+" regional partnership format was emphasized.

In the context of the development of bilateral relations, the importance of the activities of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation was noted. It was generally agreed that the work of the Commission, the most recent meeting of which was held not long ago in Astana, contributes to unlocking the potential of bilateral cooperation, as well as further increasing mutual trade, investment, and joint projects.

The cultural and humanitarian sphere is also an important vector of interstate cooperation. In this area, cooperation in education, healthcare, science, culture, and sports holds a special place.
