There was a telephone conversation between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. The head of friendly state heartily congratulated his colleague on the convincing victory in the presidential elections, having expressed the wishes for good health, wellbeing and successes, and the people of Turkmenistan peace and prosperity. Pointing out the achievements of our country in state building, socio-economic sector and in the international arena, President Serzh Sargsyan emphasized that that all this has provided nationwide support and trust to the Turkmen leader. Thanking for the congratulations and kind words, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the efficiency of Turkmen-Armenian relations. The sides discussed priority issues of partnership in the context of implementing bilateral agreements and possibilities for cooperation in various sectors. In this regard, emphasis was made on good prospects for the intensification of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation that benefits the interests of both countries. At the same time, a significant role of humanitarian and cultural contacts, contributing to strengthening of friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Armenia, was pointed out. The sides also exchanged views on a number of topical regional and international issues of mutual interest. The Turkmen leader invited the President of the Republic of Armenia to visit our country. Concluding a telephone conversation, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Serzh Sargsyan expressed confidence in further progressive development of the Turkmen-Armenian relations, based on the goodwill and constructive dialogue.
