“The national flag is an imperishable symbol of independence and neutrality, unity and solidarity of the people, – the message of the head of state says. – Its green cloth depicts gyols of the Turkmen carpet, the olive branch as a symbol of peace and prosperity, five stars and crescent symbolizing the brotherhood and unity, renewal and life itself. During this short historical period, our independent neutral state has settled down to a course of dynamic progress and received worldwide recognition as one of the most authoritative and successfully developing country in the political, economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Implementing the policy aimed at ensuring the people’s happy and prosperous life, we are guided by a motto “The State is for the People!”. In the context of this principle, we attach particular importance to the economic power growth, the social sphere empowerment, continuous improvement of the people’s living standards. In all sectors of the economy, in the spheres of science, education, healthcare, sport, culture, tourism, we are successfully performing change integration, and implementing national programs. The construction of residential luxury buildings, medical and entertainment centers, kindergartens, secondary schools, culture houses, modern villages and settlements, the creation of large high-tech industrial complexes primarily promote the Turkmen citizens’ peaceful and prosperous, sustainable high-rate momentum maintenance of the state’s economic and socio-cultural development. Independent neutral Turkmenistan pursues the forward-looking and focused foreign policy that comprehensively supports efforts of the international community to ensure peace, security and sustainable development. Advancing current initiatives to establish harmonious relations with states and leading international organizations, and in particular, to form new, time-demanded areas for global cooperation, Turkmenistan has become the center of peacemaking. The adoption of a Resolution, at the 71st session of the United Nations’ General Assembly on declaring December 12 as the International Day of Neutrality, is an evidence of the international community’s high estimate and extensive support of our policy”.
