Extended Turkmen – Uzbek talks are held in Oguzkhan Palace Complex

At the end of the one-on-one meeting of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, extended high-level negotiations were continued with participation of the members of official delegations of two countries. The efficiency of Turkmen – Uzbek cooperation is stipulated by the community of interests and the presence of political will to comprehensively intensify cooperation, - President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made special mention. Energy and transport spheres were called among strategic directions of partnership. In this sphere, both countries have successful example of cooperation. This is gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China, which was put into operation in December 2009 and runs via the territory of Uzbekistan. The Sides stand for consolidation of trade and economic relations, business partnership and increase of trade turnover volume. Special importance during the talks was attached to activation of cooperation in bilateral and international format in environmental range of problems, especially in water management and combating the desertification. The matters of cooperation in tourism, humanitarian, scientific and sport cooperation were also discusses. The Heads of the State highlighted that Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have similar visions on the approaches to international and regional problems, what is an important preposition for consolidation of efforts for provision of sustainable development and stability in the region. After the negotiations in Oguzkhan Presidential Palace Complex, documents signing ceremony is appointed in Seljuk Khan Hall.
