In Ashgabat, celebratory events were held on the occasion of the International Women’s Day with the participation of the leaders of the Mejlis, ministries and sectoral departments, and public organizations. In their framework, the ceremonies were organized to honor mothers who gave birth and brought up eight or more children, were awarded the honorary title “Ene Myahri” according to the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as to hand the keys to new comfortable flats to large families. This year, the highest mark of distinction, the sign of great recognition of the mother’s service to society and state, the invaluable contribution of our remarkable women to the progress and prosperity of the Homeland were awarded to more than two hundred and eighty of our compatriots. Care for mother and child, preservation of family values, development of professional, creative and intellectual potential of Turkmen women are the priorities of Turkmenistan’s development strategy. The national legislation in this area is improved, programs aimed at preserving women’s health, comprehensive development of children are successfully implemented, social support is provided to large families, and many other relevant steps are taken. On the eve of the International Women’s Day the ceremonies of presenting women with monetary gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan were held in ministries and departments, enterprises of all forms of property. By tradition, they were received by all, without exception, representatives of the fine half of mankind, including students, schoolgirls and children in preschool institutions.
