Speaking in Doha before governmental delegations of the two countries, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that he considers this visit to be an event that will give a powerful impetus to the development of friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar. The coincidence of positions on issues of interaction within the framework of international structures, first of all, the United Nations, the Islamic Cooperation Organization and others has also been highlighted. On February 2, 2017, at the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, a resolution was adopted to declare December 12th the International Day of Neutrality. The UN member states unanimously supported this Resolution. In this regard, sincere gratitude was expressed to Qatar for having supported this document. This event has shown that the policy of neutrality is a powerful tool for ensuring peace, security and sustainable development both in the region and in the whole planet.
