Representative state delegation of the Republic of Belarus led by the President of friendly country Alexander Lukashenko arrived Turkmen capital. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of further development of friendly and constructive dialog between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Belarus at recent session of the Cabinet of Ministers where he stated with delight that recently Turkmen – Belarusian relations was considerably activated and gained new specific content. The Head of the State noted the presence of broad opportunities for consolidation of efficient partnership in all directions. Having colossal industrial and resource potential, the sides undertakes all measures for their realization having established strong legal framework for the last two decades, which reflects mutual endeavour to close cooperation of the economies of two countries. From the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Belarus on January 23, 1993, 119 intergovernmental, interstate and interdepartmental documents regulating the cooperation in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were signed. It is worth mentioning that despite the world financial crisis, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Belarus has positive dynamics, which indicates the presence of huge potential of trade and economic cooperation. Procurement of Belarusian agricultural equipment by Turkmenistan, activity of Trade Houses opened in Ashgabat and Minsk as well as the work of Business Council for cooperation between Trade and Industrial Chambers of both countries are the evidence of pragmatic approach to construction of beneficial business partnership. The fact that Turkmenistan selected Belgorhimprod OJSC by the results of the tender for construction of the largest in Asia Garlyk ore-dressing and processing plant is the best indicator of trustful relations built for long terms. Active bilateral cooperation in humanitarian sphere is carried out. The days of culture are held on the regular basis; specialists of scientific, educational and cultural spheres are invited for participation in international conferences, exhibitions and festivals held in both countries. Around 9 000 students from Turkmenistan currently study in the universities of the Repubic of Belarus. Noting indisputable priority of cooperation of two friendly states, Presdients Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Alexander Lukashenko highlight the necessity of consolidation of joint efforts under largest international organizations and competent regional structures including the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States and others. Invariable support of important international initiatives of Turkmen side including those, which are aimed at provision of global energy security and expansion of cooperation in transport sphere, demonstrate the respect of Belarusian partners paid to peace-loving and constructive policy led by sovereign Turkmenistan, which are oriented at protection and consolidation of global security system and sustainable development. Established constructive dialog, similarity of the visions on main issue of global politics agenda as well as growing mutual economic interest of Turkmenistan and Belarus, which adherent to the principles of their own way of the State development, determine considerable advancement of respectful cooperation in all key directions.
