During the Turkmen-Belarussian talks held in Ashgabat in expanded format, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the positive dynamics of the trade turnover between the two countries in 2016, which increased by 4.4 % as compare to 2015. The President of Turkmenistan underlined that Belarus was one of old and reliable partners of Turkmenistan in the trade and economic sphere. It was also noted that the existing volumes and nomenclature of the trade turnover between the two states did not satisfy the real potential. In this regard, the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Belarussian Commission will be instructed to analyze the current situation during the forthcoming 8th session and provide specific suggestions in this respect. Underlining the necessity to find new approaches to the diversification of the trade turnover and advanced forms of cooperation as well as to establish close direct relations between producers, the Turkmen leader noted that the high hopes had been laid on business communities of the two countries. In this regard, it was underlined the necessity to intensify the work of exhibitions, fairs and business forums. Such events took place in 2014-2015. The President of Turkmenistan suggested the Belarussian partners to consider the opportunity to hold such events this and next years.
