Traditionally organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), an International Exhibition of household items has opened in Ashgabat. Its thematic areas reflect the level and implementation progress of the national projects, which are aimed at import substitution and growth in exports, and present a wide range of household goods produced by our country’s state enterprises. Today, scores of local enterprises are working successfully in the field with the application of state-of-the-art technologies and solutions. Established in 2016, a sectoral cluster, which includes 18 private enterprises, is practically in full operation in Ak Bugdai etrap, Akhal velayat. Price competitiveness and capability to produce specifically tailored products fitting with consumer’s preference gives a great advantage over foreign rivals. Entrepreneurs are constantly searching for new materials in furniture business. An exhibition stand of “Şahym-Şa” Economic Association, specializing in polypropylene pipe and metal shapes production, displays decorative metalwork and wrought iron items – chairs, armchairs, tables and charcoal grills. Thanks to ties with foreign partners, domestic consumers have an opportunity to choose from a vast selection of furniture, home decoration, and household textile from world leading manufacturers. All of this is presented on stands of leading Turkish, Italian, German companies, as well as of those of Turkmen distributors for the best European producers of various home decoration items. Among the exhibitors are the Furniture Center of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, “Ashgabat’s Markets Association”, Altyn Asyr Shopping Center. On display are the most sought-after household products – furniture and kitchen equipment, household appliances, television equipment, cordless telephones, computers, refrigerators, combined gas and electric cookers, washing machines, water heaters, various plastic products, and many others. “Türkmen Şöhle” Economic Association showcases the variety of polymer products (some 60 kinds) – dishware and containers, kitchen utensils, light furniture, toys, bathroom facilities, and cleansers. The exhibition pavilion of the Ministry of Industry demonstrates electrical goods and appliances, and a broad selection of LED lamps. As part of the State Program for establishing electronic equipment-producing enterprises, joint state- and privately-owned organizations are being set up. Among them is “Hojalyk Harytlary” Economic Association, which assembles gas and electric cookers, electric ovens, microwave ovens and vacuum cleaners. Created this year, “Аýdyn Gijeler” Economic Association represents an enterprise producing 3-24-watt LED lamps with an annual capacity of 8,440 lamps. Nearly 80 percent of locally-available materials are expected to be used in lamp production; thanks to this lamps will be comparatively cheaper than the ones produced in foreign countries. The enterprise has a plan to start production of laser printer cartridges. Local textile producers are showcasing their products – sets of bedclothes and bath towels, kitchen textiles, and curtains. Traditionally, arts and crafts are also exhibited by private entrepreneurs. As part of the International Exhibition of household items, the CCI exhibition hall hosts business meetings to exchange experience, provide an insight into modern achievements and innovative solutions, establish partner contacts and put domestic products on the foreign markets. Residents and guests of Ashgabat have the opportunity to attend the exhibition up to and including May 4.
