At the IV Islamic Solidarity Games under way in the Azerbaijani capital city Turkmen athletes met with the Turkish national team in the first volleyball match. Having lost to the opponents with a score 0:3, they still have the chance of competing for medals. Ten teams participating in the tournament were divided into two groups. In the group of Turkmen and Turkish volleyball players there are also volleyball players of Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Palestine. Only the first and second places give the right to pass into next round, which will define the champion and prize winners. Our athletes are to play three more matches. One of them is to take place with the national team of Palestine on May 13. The result of this game will determine the further position of the Turkmenistan team.
