From the first days of the independence, Turkmenistan chose the way of sovereign development, having recommended itself in the world as peace-loving and reliable partner and prosperous state for the short period, - the message says. We are proud of the level achieved by our country for the quarter of the century, of the successes in internal and foreign policy, economy, culture, social and humanitarian spheres. Achieved goals and targets and international activity are highly appreciated by the world community. Large international organizations, famous politicians highly evaluate our reforms in the governmental and social system, internal and foreign policy, history culture, traditions and customs, national mentality and specially the experience gained by us in assertion of the democratic civic society. I am confident that current international conference “The Constitution of Turkmenistan – Legal Foundation of the Development” will have great importance in evaluation of the way we walked for 25 years as well as in defining of the perspective priority vectors, - the Head of the State highlights. The people of Turkmenistan is proud of the Constitution, which outlines the main directions of social and state system. Declaring the individual as the highest value of the society and the state, the Main Law of Turkmenistan guarantees the rights and freedoms of the individual and citizen and serves as reliable foundation of social, economic and legal changes aimed at the development of the Motherland and provision of happy and prosperous life of the nation. Our Main Law reflects the reforms in the society, high targets and humanistic principles. After national discussion, new edition of the Constitution of Turkmenistan was adopted in 2016 what became an event of the greatest significance. In its turn, it served as a strong legal base for future development of Turkmenistan, which is confidently follows the way of foundation of powerful, democratic and legal state pursuing the peace-making international policy. We strictly follows the policy of positive neutrality. The legal status of permanent neutrality of our independent state was twice recognized by the relative resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly. Turkmenistan is the only neutral state in the world that included the Resolutions of the United Nations in its Main Law, - the message mentions. Being committed to universal standards of international law, cooperation based on principles of respect, goodwill and mutual benefits, we attach great importance to consolidation and steadfast development of political, economic and cultural relations with competent international organizations. Comprehensively developing the positions of our Motherland in the world, we will continue steadily following the principles of neutrality laid down in our Constitution, pursuing the policy of friendship and broad international cooperation, which meets not only national interests but also global targets of peace, security and prosperity, - the message of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov says.
