Today President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has received Chairwoman of the Council of Federation of Federal Meeting of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko who has arrived in Ashgabat at the head of the Russian delegation for participation in the solemn ceremony of opening of the 5th Asian indoor and martial arts games. The guest has conveyed to the head of the state congratulation and best regards in conduction of this large scale sports competition from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Chairman of the government of Russia Dmitry Medvedev. Having thanked for their kind words and having conveyed reciprocal best regards to the top senior officials of the Russian Federation, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov underlined a special character of relations with Russia which was always and will remain to be a strategic partner of Turkmenistan. During the meeting the Turkmen leader and the guest discussed the condition and prospects of bilateral interaction in political, trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. A high level of interstate dialogue and presence of high potential for its further intensification was stated. The role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian commission for economic cooperation in strengthening of trade and economic relations was marked. The speaker of the Council of Federation of Russia underlined that the peace-making policy of independent permanently neutral Turkmenistan acting as generator of important international initiatives, aimed at strengthening of safety and social and economic progress, secured for the country high international authority among all members of the community of nations. Russia sees Turkmenistan as reliable strategic partner playing a huge positive role in maintenance of stability in Central Asia, V.Matvienko told. The speaker of the Russian parliament also expressed belief that the ""Ashgabad-2017"" will increase an international authority of Turkmenistan and will create conditions for the further development of national sports movement.
