President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarabayev who arrived in our country for participation in large events on occasion of opening of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. Greeting each other, the Leader of two countries had joint photo on the background of the State Flags of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Head of neighbouring state cordially congratulated the colleague on the beginning of international sport forum that is held for the first time in the Central Asia. Having highlighted that Ashgabat 2017 Games would be the event of huge historical significance, high-ranking guest noted special personal input of Turkmen leader to achievements of humane principles of the Olympic movement. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed the gratitude to President Nursultan Nazarbayev for accepted invitation to participate in the opening ceremony of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games and stated with delight that bilateral relations between our countries are being dynamically developed. This is a good background for close cooperation under competent international structures, first of all under the United Nations Organization as well as for understanding of the main global and regional issues where Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan have same or similar approaches. In this context, Kazakh Leader highly evaluated constructive initiatives of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for solution of water and ecological range of problems and large work carried out by Turkmenistan as a Chairing country of International Fund for Saving of the Aral Sea. During the meeting, the Head of two states discussed current condition and prospects of interstate collaboration, outlined its priority directions and spoke for active consolidation of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, expansion of business, humanitarian, scientific and educational contacts. It was emphasized that new stimuli to development of versatile bilateral cooperation were given during official visit of Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Kazakhstan and to the capital of friendly country for participation in the opening ceremony of International Exhibition EXPO 2017 held in this year. Stating with delight existing potential of partnership in such strategic spheres as energy and transport, national leaders noted exclusive importance of the project of establishment of North – South transport corridor – the construction of Kazakhstan – Turkmenistan – Iran railroad. Built railroad becomes important link in formation of modern transport infrastructure, which would allow bringing economic and trade partnership between the Central Asian countries and neighbouring regions to new level. In the meantime, the Head of the State and his guest spoke for intensification of traditional cooperation in humanitarian spheres including culture, sports and Turkmenistan as well as for conducting of joint events and share of the experience in these fields.
