The flight timetable of the Service was supplemented with another international air route (Ashgabat-Yerevan-Ashgabat), which connected the capitals of Turkmenistan and Armenia. The possibilities for opening of this direct air service were discussed during the official visit of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov to the Republic of Armenia in August this year. The present implementation of the agreements reached at top level within the shortest possible period demonstrates the commitment of both sides to the effective use of the existing potential for development of mutually beneficial cooperation. With opening of the Ashgabat-Yerevan direct flight, the national carrier of Turkmenistan has developed its transport and transit capacities in the Caucasus region direction. The formation of an extensive route network is in progress, and in the near future it will be supplemented with new regional and interregional lines.
