On January 26, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov presided over a regular working video-selector meeting with participation of a number of Cabinet Deputies Chairman, khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat city, and heads of some sectoral agencies. First speaker, Akhal velayat khyakim M. Nurmammedov reported on the state of affairs in the region, the ongoing seasonal agrotechnical measures in farmlands, the steps taken to secure efficient wintering of the cattle, as well as on the current preparatory work on procurement of silk cocoons. In the after-report comments, the President of Turkmenistan has commissioned to take all necessary measures aimed at well-organized conducting the agri-campaigns. Having stressed the importance of well-coordinated work of the relevant structures for successful implementation of the adopted 2015-cocoon procurement plan, the leader of nation demanded to responsibly approach the tasks. Next speaker, Balkan velayat khyakim B. Hojamammedov informed about implementation progress of the works under way in the region, the situation in farmlands, the measures undertaken to provide the livestock efficient wintering on farms of the velayat, preparations for the next cocoon procurement season, as well as about trouble-free functioning of the heating systems of residential buildings, and social- and cultural-purpose objects. Summarizing the report, the President of Turkmenistan has commissioned to keep constant control over ensuring uninterrupted heat, power and gas supply to the population, the work on livestock farms, handling of winter wheat crops in farmlands in compliance with agrotechnical standards, as well as all-round preparations for the upcoming spring sowing campaign. Having noted that this year’s plan targets for cocoon procurement in the velayat remain the same, the nation’s leader has emphasized the necessity of taking a multi-faceted approach to the issues of their production. The video-report of Dashoguz velayat khyakim E. Orazgeldiev covered the situation in the region’s agro-industrial complex, the measures taken to adequately prepare agri- machinery for the spring sowing, the implementation course of the agri-campaigns, efficient cattle wintering, additional fodder supply on livestock farms, the state of affairs at the construction sites, execution progress of the work plan for uninterrupted heat and power supply to dwelling houses, schools, kindergartens in the velayat. In the context of tackling the issues of the agro-industrial complex development, the head of state has focused on raising profitability of livestock farms, as well as on the velayat’s obligations on implementation of the cocoon procurement plan. The state of affairs in the region, including the ongoing agri-works, the work on development of the velayat’s industrial infrastructure and social sphere, the additional measures taken to provide well-fed and warm wintering of the cattle, as well as preparations for the upcoming sowing campaign were in the focus of the report made by Lebap velayat khyakim M. Joraev. Having pointed out the necessity of creating adequate conditions for livestock wintering and noted the significance of efficient organization of the spring sowing campaign for the future harvest, the leader of nation has given the khyakim a number of specific instructions, including on successful implementation of the cocoon procurement plan. In his turn, Mary velayat khyakim B. Annagurbanov reported on the situation in the region, the measures aimed at tackling the tasks defined by the 2015 Work Plan, the work carried out in farmlands, on livestock farms, at sites of the objects under construction in the region. The khyakim also centered on preparation of the events to be held on the occasion of announcing the city of Mary this year’s cultural capital of the Turkic world, having submitted for consideration by the head of state the relevant projects, as well as location maps of a new shopping-entertainment center, and a modern bus station planned for construction in the velayat. Having noted the importance of organizing the work carried out in the velayat’s agro-industrial complex in compliance with present-day requirements, the head of state has ordered to keep constant control over the issues of implementing the annual cocoon procurement plan. Having expressed a number of remarks on the presented projects and location maps, the head of state made significant corrections and assigned to take a responsible approach to the construction of planned facilities. The video-report of Ashgabat city’s khyakim R. Nurmammedov was an extensive coverage of the state of affairs in the capital, including the work on its further improvement. Summing up the report, the President of Turkmenistan reminded of personal responsibility of leaders of the city’s administration for the quality and timely completion of the objects erected in the capital, adequate operational condition of its main engineering structures and the general state of Ashgabat’s utility infrastructure. In the course of the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov simultaneously invited Cabinet Deputies Chairman B. Ereshov and A. Yazmyradov for video-contact. Having stressed the availability of all conditions and resources in velayats for successful implementation of cocoon procurement plans in the running year, the head of state signed the relevant Resolution and expressed confidence that the work would be adequately executed. Then, Cabinet Deputy Chairman B. Ereshov informed about the current state of affairs in the spheres he is in charge of, particularly fulfillment of the earlier presidential assignments on the construction of a new production facility of the State Fishery Committee. The Vice-Premier submitted for consideration by the President of Turkmenistan project designs and location maps of a fish processing complex planned for construction in the territory of Balkan velayat, and reported that the issues of the complex’s ecological safety had been agreed upon with the relevant agencies. After examining the submitted projects of the fishing industry’s new objects, the nation’s leader, in whole, approved them, having commissioned to thoroughly consider all the issues related to the projects implementation. In his turn, Cabinet Deputy Chairman A. Yazmyradov reported on the state of affairs in the structures he is responsible for. Having emphasized that equestrian sport (show- jumping) was included in the competition program of the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games on the initiative of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, the Vice-Premier informed that the necessary infrastructure had been created in the International Equestrian Complex to hold the equestrian competitions at a high level. The Vice-Premier also presented for consideration by the nation’s leader designed projects and location maps of similar objects planned for construction in the Ashgabat Equestrian Complex to hold international equestrian events. Having become acquainted with the submitted projects and location maps and expressed a number of remarks, the head of state approved them on the whole, and commissioned to take a responsible approach to the construction of these facilities. Then, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov invited Vice-Premier B. Artykov and Cabinet Deputy Chairman, Manager of the Presidential and Cabinet Administration Office Sh. Durdylyev for direct video-communication, who focused on the situation in the sectors answerable to them and implementation of the assignments given earlier by the head of state. The reports also included the information about the ongoing work on project designs of a complex of buildings of the Turkmen Institute of Municipal Services in Abadan etrap of the Turkmen capital, as well as a number of social- and cultural-purpose objects. On the whole, having approved the presented projects of the Institute of Municipal Services buildings, the President of Turkmenistan made relevant corrections and gave the issue-related instructions to the Vice-Premiers. In this connection, the head of state stressed an important role of the new higher education institution destined to train highly qualified personnel in a number of professions widely acclaimed by the country’s national economy. Then, President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov invited Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan B. Gundogdyev to report on the implementation course of the large-scale military reform, initiated by the leader of nation, as well as on preparations for the celebration of the 23rd anniversary of establishing the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan and Motherland Defenders Day, celebrated on January 27. Having congratulated defenders of the Motherland on the upcoming remarkable holiday, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief has sent his best wishes to the leaders and personnel of the military and law enforcement bodies, who make a huge contribution to successful implementation of the large-scale development programs of the epoch of power and happiness. In accordance with the adopted Military Doctrine (which is of purely defensive character) the military reform is being successfully carried out in the country. The Armed Forces’ material and technical base is regularly strengthened thanks to acquisition of the most advanced equipment. Much consideration is given to training of highly-qualified military specialists who are devoted to their Motherland. The necessary work is well under way on instilling in members of the national army the spirit of patriotism, courage and devotion, following in good traditions of our brave ancestors. Great importance is attached to gradual improvement of living conditions of the servicemen and their families. “We will have constant concern for the improvement of the Armed Forces – an inviolable bulwark of our independent Motherland,” President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov said.
