On January 28, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoglu. In the course of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and the head of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Turkey have exchanged views on prospects for further expansion of interaction in the context of fulfilling the bilateral agreements reached earlier and the available potential for intensification of mutually beneficial relations in prospect. Highlighting the progressive dynamics of trade and economic partnership, the head of Turkmen state has cited as an eloquent example a considerable increase in trade turnover between our countries, as well as the fruitful work of well-known Turkish companies, which actively participate in the realization of large-scale national and regional projects in Turkmenistan. In his turn, the guest has made a special emphasis on a deep interest of Turkish business in strengthening its position in the promising Turkmen market, which year by year attracts more and more potential investors and companies from all around the world, having expressed the words of sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the support rendered in this direction. The humanitarian-cultural field, as an integral part of the interstate dialogue, was also mentioned among the priority areas of Turkmen-Turkish cooperation. In this context, the parties have highlighted the significance of strengthening and broadening the traditional relations in the spheres of science, education, culture, and tourism, what will contribute to closer relations between the two brotherly peoples. Over the past years, the bilateral scientific, educational and cultural contacts, exchange of experience gained in these important fields, to development of which both countries pay close attention, have received a fresh impetus. A separate theme of the conversation was the upcoming Ashgabat trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan, whose agenda would also focus on the issues of interstate cooperation in the field of energy and transport. In this regard, the accent was placed on the importance of the initiatives put forward by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov on ensuring global energy security and creating extensive regional and transcontinental transit-transport infrastructure, whose topicality had been proven by time. As the guest stressed, Turkey pays much attention to cooperation with Turkmenistan within the United Nations Organization and other important international organizations, and entirely supports constructive initiatives and proposals of the Turkmen leader aimed at strengthening peace, stability and security, universal sustainable development.
