On February 16, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov conducted a video-selector meeting with participation of khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat city, as well as heads of some agencies. Having assigned the velayat khyakim and khyakims of etraps to keep unremitting control and take personal responsibility for the work, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov demanded from khyakims of etraps to devote time in their work schedules to regular visits to daikhan associations, familiarization with the implementation progress of the agri-works, including tending of crops. Highlighting commitment of the modern Turkmen society to high moral ideals and humanistic principles of our great ancestors, the leader of nation has noted that on the threshold of the important national holidays it is customary in our country to grant pardons to convicts, who sincerely repented of what they had done. Having informed that the Commission for Citizenship and Clemency Affairs under the President of Turkmenistan had prepared the relevant documents, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov invited Chairman of the Commission, Minister of National Security Ya. Berdiev for direct video-communication. After the report on the Commission’s activities aimed to prepare the documents on pardoning the convicted persons in honor of Turkmenistan’s State Flag Day, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov signed a Ukase, having commissioned the heads of law enforcement agencies to timely tackle all the organizational issues of releasing the pardoned citizens to enable them to celebrate the holiday in the bosom of their families.
