On March 2, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov conducted a regular working video-selector meeting with participation of khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat city. After opening the meeting, the head of state gave the floor to Akhal velayat khyakim M. Nurmammedov to report on the state of affairs in the region, the activities ongoing in the framework of the National Rural Development Program, the agrotechnical measures under way in farmlands, as well as on the preparations for a mass yovar, in the frames of which 300,000 young trees would be planted in the velayat. The head of velayat submitted project designs and location maps of new facilities (planned for construction in the velayat) for consideration by the head of state. The head of state made a number of remarks on the presented construction projects, having stressed that all the objects erected in the frames of the National Program for regions’ development should meet present-day requirements. The nation’s leader Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov gave the khyakim commissions on ensuring a high organizational level of the mass planting campaign and systematic work on tending the trees. Reporting on the current work ongoing in main directions of the region’s development, Balkan velayat khyakim B. Hojamammedov centered on the construction progress of large objects erected in the velayat, the planned agrotechnical operations on arable farms, and on the preparations for the nationwide tree-planting yovar. Focusing on the current measures in the velayat’s agro-industrial complex, the leader of nation demanded to efficiently organize the planting of cotton, fruit, vegetable and other crops and to ensure the well-managed coordination of activities at the local level, both at the start of the campaigns and during the entire planting season. Next speaker, Dashoguz velayat khyakim E. Orazgeldiev concentrated on the state of affairs in the region. Reporting on the readiness for the spring field works, the khyakim informed about the allocation of 200 hectares of farmlands to be planted to fruit and vegetable crops, the measures taken to ensure the well-organized cotton sowing campaign at the appointed time. Besides, the head of regional administration centered on the preparations for mass tree-planting campaign in etraps and cities of the velayat, as well as the cultural activities to be held to mark the remarkable dates. In the after-report comments, the President of Turkmenistan demanded to increase the organizational and technical level of agri-works, to take every measure to organize the sowing campaign in strict compliance with agrotechnical standards, and to supply cotton growers and other farmers with necessary resources. Having stressed the importance of such massive ecological activities as a nationwide yovar, the nations’ leader assigned the khyakim to ensure active participation of the local population, and adequate tending of planted trees. The report of Lebap velayat khyakim M. Joraev covered the state of affairs in the region, including in the agro-industrial complex, fulfillment of the earlier presidential assignments on the velayat’s industrial infrastructure development and the construction progress of objects erected in the region. The khyakim also informed about the preparations for planting of different crops, well-organized start of the cotton sowing campaign, and the upcoming tree-planting work. The head of state also gave the governor of regional administration a number of commissions on efficient organization of the sowing season in strict compliance with the schedule of agrotechnical measures. The nation’s leader Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov drew attention of the khyakim to the necessity of a responsible approach to the mass tree-planting campaign, adequate tending and timely irrigation of planted trees. The agri-works ongoing in the region, in particular handling of winter wheat crops (in 200,000 hectares of farmlands), preparation of fields and agri-machinery to be used in the spring sowing campaign were in the focus of the report made by Mary velayat khyakim B. Annagurbanov. As informed, 700 hectares of farmlands will be planted to fruit and vegetable crops, 165,000 hectares – to cotton. The report also included the information about the progress of works at sites of the objects under construction in the velayat, the preparations for the nationwide yovar, in the frames of which 300,000 young trees would be planted in specially designated areas. Having focused on the need to thoroughly prepare for the spring sowing – an important season for the agricultural sector, the head of Turkmen state instructed to carry out the relevant work on increasing production of fruits and vegetables in the velayat, to efficiently and effectively use all the resources available. Then, the President of Turkmenistan invited Ashgabat city’s khyakim R. Nurmammedov for direct video communication to report on the implementation progress of large-scale activities aimed at the capital’s socio-economic development and improvement, as well as on fulfillment of the earlier presidential assignments. The khyakim also reported on the preparations for the countrywide yovar, planning of areas to be turned to green zones in the outskirts of the capital, as well as the preparatory measures for the remarkable dates. Having stressed that recognition of white marble Ashgabat among the world’s most beautiful and developed cities depends on systematic realization of the town-planning program, which includes creation of aesthetic architectural environment and comfortable living conditions for the people, the Turkmen leader gave the khyakim a number of concrete instructions on further improving the city and its social services, raising efficiency of work of the community facilities. The head of state also commissioned to ensure a high organizational level of the upcoming countrywide yovar, having demanded to adequately tender young trees.
