On March 5, President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, Army General Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov convened a meeting of the State Security Council to sum up outcomes of this year’s two-month activity of the military and law-enforcement bodies and define tasks for further improvement and strengthening of material and technical base of the agencies. The meeting took place in the Civil Defense and Rescue Operations Department building, the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan. First speaker, Secretary of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan, Minister of National Security Ya. Berdiev informed the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country about the fundamental transformations ongoing in the frames of realization of the large-scale military reform, worked out under his direct leadership, the measures taken by the Ministry of National Security to protect national interests, as well as to maintain peace and stability in the country. Next speaker, Commander of the State Border Service of Turkmenistan M. Yslamov reported on the work done over the January-February period, particularly, fulfillment of the assignments given by the head of state on enhancing the protection of the Motherland’s sacred borders and improving the social and living conditions of frontier guards. By order of the leader of nation new facilities, such as administrative buildings, new buildings of frontier posts and residential houses are constructed in different parts of our country. Then, Minister of Defense B. Gundogdyev delivered his report on the task-oriented measures taken to steadily improve the Armed Forces of the country, strengthen their military and technical base. As noted, special consideration is given today to patriotic and educational work, improvement of military proficiency and humanitarian training of the military personnel as well as creation of favorable conditions for their service and life, which serve as important aspects of the ongoing fundamental military reform. The report of Minster of the Interior of Turkmenistan I. Mulikov was centered on the outcomes of the Ministry’s two-month activity on tackling the important tasks set before the institution in the epoch of power and happiness. The report of Attorney General of Turkmenistan A. Hallyev covered the concrete measures taken by public prosecution agencies to exercise close control over rigorous observance of laws, in particular, checks conducted in some ministries and departments in January and February. In his turn, Chairman of Supreme Court B. Charyev focused on the work accomplished in the structures, he is in charge of, in the period under review in the light of the tasks assigned by the leader of nation on steady improving the national judicial system. The report of Minister of Adalalt of Turkmenistan B. Muhamedov highlighted the measures taken to further all-round development of the country’s legal framework. Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan A. Hojamgulyev reported on the measures taken in the past two months to fulfill the commissions given earlier by the head of state, including on enhancing efficiency of the supervised structures’ activity. In particular, the leader of nation was informed about the work of the International Customs Terminal, which was opened in the outskirts of Ashgabat in last year’s autumn, as well as about the completion of construction and tooling of a new building of the Dashoguz velayat Department of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and a residential house built for its workers. The action steps taken in the period under review in the frames of the “National Program of combating the illicit drugs circulation, rendering help to the people dependent on drugs and psychotropic substances for 2011-2015”, worked out under the guidance of the head of state, were in the focus of the report made by the head of the State Service for Protecting Security of the Healthy Society of Turkmenistan A. Osmanov. The Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces was also informed about the preparations for an operation to start in April, in the frames of which the staff had undergone special training. The activity of the Service aimed to facilitate the development of wide international cooperation and popularization of the progress and achievements of modern Turkmenistan was in the center of the report made by Chairman of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan D. Bairamov. All the heads of the military and law-enforcement agencies were assigned to give priority attention to military proficiency and humanitarian training of specialists, professional improvement of servicemen, who should regularly broaden their outlook and spheres of interest. Some other issues were considered at the meeting of the State Security Council, and the appropriate resolutions were adopted. Upon completion of the State Security Council meeting, the head of state was demonstrated models of new military uniform of guards of honor and mounted escort in the foyer of the Civil Defense and Rescue Operations Department building, the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan. After examining the presented models, the nation’s leader commissioned to continue the work in this direction, having directed attention to the fact that along with its design, the uniform should be comfortable and practical, made with a glance to the national traditions and our country’s climatic conditions.
