On March 6, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Japan in Turkmenistan Mr. Yasushige Okimoto, who was completing his diplomatic mission in our country. In the frames of the meeting, an interest-based exchanged of opinions was held on different trends of interstate cooperation both in the bilateral and multilateral format within large international organizations. As noted, a trust-based and mutually respectful dialogue at top level, as well as similarity or concurrence of the two countries viewpoints on a range of international topical issues, first of all, on the main present-day problems, directly contribute to steady strengthening the by-now productive partnership. Having noted with satisfaction the growing mutual interest, which ensures the progressive dynamics of the business partnership development, the head of Turkmenistan and his guest have placed special accent on the significance of activities of the Turkmen-Japanese and Japanese-Turkmen Committees for Economic Cooperation, as well as different-level meetings frequently held in recent years. In this regard, the parties have expressed mutual confidence in success of the forthcoming visit by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov to Japan, which, according to a shared opinion, will lay a solid foundation for diversification of the mutually beneficial relations in various fields, including the trade-economic sphere and fuel and energy sector, to development of which the two countries pay priority attention. Having stressed that cooperation with the Land of the Rising Sun (which has the developed economy and high technologies) is one of the main priorities of the foreign economic strategy of Turkmenistan, and has bright prospects, the head of state thanked for the support provided by the Japanese side to our country’s accelerated socio-economic development through joint implementation and investing of the projects important to the Turkmen economy. Highly appreciating the contribution of Mr. Yasushige Okimoto to the intensification of political, economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan, the nation’s leader wished the diplomat happiness and health. In his turn, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Japan in Turkmenistan was sincerely appreciative to President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov of the assistance rendered and his personal contribution to the work of the diplomatic mission in Ashgabat he was in charge of, having expressed confidence in progressive development of the bilateral relations and strengthening of the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding between the two friendly nations.
