After reading out the agenda, the head of state gave the floor to Cabinet Deputy Chairman S. Satlykov. The activity of the Ministry of Railway Transport, the work on strengthening the material-technical base of the “Turkmenhovayollary” State National Service, the expansion of the fleet of vessels of the State Sea and River Transport Service, as well as the large-scale measures taken to prepare highly-qualified specialists for the industries were key issues the report of the Vice Premier was centered on. Then, Minister of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan B. Annameredov reported on the ongoing work on increasing the volumes of freight and passenger traffic, improving the quality of services and enhancing the sector’s material-technical base. In his turn, Chairman of the State Sea and River Transport Service of Turkmenistan R. Gutlyev informed about the fulfillment of earlier presidential assignments concerning the modernization of the Turkmen marine, as well as stepping up of goods and passenger transportation. Having noted that the state would continue to pay unremitting attention to improvement of the activity of the country’s marine, replenishment of its technical fleet with new vessels, the nation’s leader gave a number of commissions on enhancing international cooperation in the sector, improving the quality of services rendered to passengers of marine and river transport. After the report, the leader of nation defined the improved supply of water to farmlands (including by accumulating it in artificial reservoirs during the rainy season) as top priority measures. The nation’s leader focused attention on the need to expand the landscaping work, carried out by country’s ministries, sectoral agencies and khyakimliks of velayats in the framework of the National Forest Program, aimed to create a favorable living environment, having noted great responsibility of the Ministry of Nature Protection of Turkmenistan for tackling the issue. Minister of Energy G. Saryev reported on the current affairs in the industry, the comprehensive measures aimed at improving power supply in all parts of our country and increasing the sector’s export potential. The report also included the information on the fulfillment of earlier presidential assignments on raising the level of proficiency of the sector’s workers, and introducing new developments. After the report, the President of Turkmenistan noted the necessity of taking a highly responsible and comprehensive approach to the issues of uninterrupted power supply in the country and enhancement of the industry’s production and export potential. Necessary measures should be taken for the comprehensive development of the energy sector’s export capacity – an essential condition for strengthening of the national economy, the head of state said. In his turn, Chairman of the “Turkmenvatoyollary” State Concern D. Amangeldiev reported on the progress of work in the spheres answerable to him, the ongoing large-scale measures aimed to expand our country’s road network, to accelerate the pace of construction of the high-speed highway, and to conduct road construction works in accordance with international standards. Having highlighted the significance of roads in developing our country’s international transport-transit potential, the nation’s leader noted the need to ensure compliance of the work done in this direction with present-day requirements, and a highly responsible approach to work. In the course of the working meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov commissioned Cabinet Deputy Chairman, Manager of Presidential and Cabinet Administration Office Sh. Durdylyev, as well as khyakims of Akhal, Balkan, Mary velayats and Ashgabat city (who also attended the meeting) to keep all the work, carried out in different parts of the country and in the capital under strict control. The President of Turkmenistan assigned Cabinet Deputy Chairman A. Gochyev and the Minister of Finance (invited to participate in the meeting) to approach the work on creating new potentials for development of the national economy’s sectors with all responsibility. During the meeting, having stressed the importance of work on improving the economy’s financial system, creating the competitive financial structure in the sectors, active attracting investments of the private sector, typical for the development of market economy, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov gave appropriate instructions to the Minister of Finance of Turkmenistan. Addressing to Cabinet Deputy Chairman B. Ereshov, the head of state stressed that the industry should reach a qualitatively new level of development, having pointed out the importance of tackling the issues of phased construction, as well as renovation of the industrial facilities which had been in operation. The President of Turkmenistan instructed the head of the “Turkmenhimiya” State Concern to take the necessary measures aimed to increase the production of mineral fertilizers, and on the whole, to develop the chemical industry. In the course of the meeting, the head of state gave a number of commissions to Cabinet Deputy Chairman of Turkmenistan S. Toilyev on implementing the country’s scientific-technical policy, enhancing the contributions of national science to the economy, adopting innovative technologies in the scientific-educational field and production, improving practical efficiency of scientific investigations in priority trends of the national economy, and ensuring participation of talented young people in the work. The nation’s leader assigned the head of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan to conduct the work on upgrading the material-technical base of scientific institutes and centers, on applying the latest scientific achievements in all spheres of the national economy. In this connection, an emphasis was placed on the need to discover talented young people, to foster young scientific talents, and stimulate the growth of their professional skill. Speaking to the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the V Asian Games (who participated in the meeting as well), the President of Turkmenistan gave a number of commissions on ensuring all-round preparations for the forthcoming Asian Games and strict control over the construction progress at sites of the Olympic Park facilities. Then, the head of state gave a number of assignments to Cabinet Deputy Chairperson M. Yazmuhammedova concerning preparations for the celebrations to be held in our country on the occasion of remarkable dates of the national calendar, particularly, on the cultural program worked out for the International Novruz Holiday celebrations. Addressing to Cabinet Deputy Chairman P. Taganov, the head of state underlined the importance of organizing the work in the trade and services field, entrepreneurial activity in compliance with modern requirements, as well as the necessity of holding regular different-level events in our country with participation of representatives of global business communities. President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov gave a number of commissions to the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan on holding exhibitions, business and investment forums in our country and beyond. Having focused attention on the large-scale activities aimed at development of the private sector in Turkmenistan, the nation’s leader stressed the need to intensify the work of Turkmen entrepreneurs in different sectors of the national economy. During the working meeting, speaking to Chairperson of the National Parliament A. Nurberdyeva, the head of state highlighted the importance of keeping constant control over the work on the country’s legislation improvement. Some other issues of state life were considered at the working meeting, and the appropriate resolutions were adopted.
