On May 6, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Jamil Çiçek. Noting the effectiveness of the progressively advancing interstate trade-economic cooperation, the leader of nation expressed his gratitude to the Turkish companies, working in Turkmenistan, having stated that this work would have its successful continuation. During the conversation, the President of Turkmenistan focused attention on the quadrilateral meeting on energy issues, which had been held in Ashgabat the week before with participation of representatives of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey and the EU, having highlighted Turkmenistan’s interest in supplies of Turkmen natural gas to the friendly Republic of Turkey. Having stressed that this year Turkmenistan is celebrating the glorious holiday –the 20th anniversary of our country’s neutrality status, recognized by the international community, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov invited the head of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey to the high-level international event to be held in Ashgabat on December 12, 2015. Over the last years, a great deal of joint work has been efficiently carried out on the basis of international legal base of interstate interaction, the leader of nation said, having thanked Jamil Çiçek for his personal contribution to maintaining high-level interstate relations between the two countries, and wished him successful conducting of all the meetings and events scheduled within the framework of his visit to our country. In the course of the meeting, an interest-based exchange of opinions was held on the state and prospects of the bilateral dialogue. As noted, at the modern stage the Turkmen-Turkish relations based on the common spiritual traditions, are successfully developing in all areas, and being filled with new content. Having emphasized the significance of the running year in the light of the 20th anniversary of Turkmen neutrality, which is being widely marked in our country, Jamil Çiçek has noted that the policy pursued by Turkmenistan in accordance with its permanent neutrality delegated by the world community, is highly appraised in his country. Having placed emphasis on the two countries’ successful interaction at the political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian levels, Jamil Çiçek has underlined that it is a result of agreements reached between the heads of our countries and governments. The Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey has noted that one of the main goals of his visit to Turkmenistan is the provision of support to the policy pursued by the two countries’ leaders at the parliamentary level. Speaking of Turkish parliamentarians’ intention to further strengthen the fruitful relations with their Turkmen colleagues, Jamil Çiçek expressed confidence that the productive dialogue in this sphere would promote expansion of bilateral partnership.
