On May 27, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Gennady Zubko, who arrived in Ashgabat as the head of his country’s representative delegation to participate in the fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Ukrainian Commission for Economic Cooperation. In the course of meeting, an interest-based exchange of opinions was held on a broad range of issues of traditional interstate cooperation. Acknowledging availability of vast potential for the long-term Turkmen-Ukrainian partnership, the President of Turkmenistan and the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine gave consideration to the possibilities of promoting cooperation in a number of key trends, in particular, in the trade-economic, fuel and energy, and humanitarian fields. As noted, special attention will be focused on the key issues of the meeting agenda – prospects for cooperation in the power and machine-building industries, transport-communications sector, agroindustrial complex, as well as training education of specialists in the cultural-humanitarian sphere. Special theme of the conversation was the possibilities for the Ukrainian builders and design institutes to participate in the implementation of new joint infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Turkmenistan Valentin Shevalev.
