On 30 July, having left the capital’s airport for Turkmenbashi city, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov (during his short-term leave) arrived in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone to get acquainted with the state of affairs in the seaside resort, at present rapidly advancing in the beautiful Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea. In the morning, the Turkmen leader arrived to the “Akmaýa” Celebration Center located on the bank of the Avaza River, where the nation’s leader was warmly welcomed by the Chairperson of Mejlis, Deputies Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, khyakims of velayats of the country. Here, various samples of pleasure boats were presented to the attention of President of Turkmenistan. After examining the boats, the nation’s leader Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov noted the need to take care of the vacationers’ interesting and meaningful leisure time, as well as to consider the opportunities of diversifying the boat trips and excursions along the Avaza River and the Caspian Sea’s aquatorium. In this respect, the head of state gave specific commissions to the appropriate managers. Then, the President of Turkmenistan with associates made a boat trip along the Avaza River – one of the brightest icons of the National Tourist Zone. The seven-kilometre navigable artery blended well with the surrounding landscapes. The natural beauty of riverside recreation area with cosy cafes and restaurants, piers for pleasure boats, pedestrian and cycle lanes successfully co-exists with tracery arches of road and pedestrian bridges thrown across the River. The width of River allows the marine-category yachts to take to the open sea due to the special chamber gates. The fascinating river tours are very popular with all the incoming holidaymakers. Thereupon, the River is also intended for holding water sport competitions, various cultural events, and festive celebrations. En route, the President of Turkmenistan viewed the facilities of the National Tourist Zone and its new objects, testifying to the intense paces of forming there of the ramified resort infrastructure. Thus, early in the current month, Avaza hosted at-a-time launching of three Park and Entertainment Complexes –“Älemgoşar”, “Deňizmerjeni” and “Jadylykenar”, which have almost immediately become one of the most popular resort and amusement places for children and adults. The Coastal Park with its fountain complex and evening colourful water-light shows is among the most memorable attractions of “Avaza”. In the near future, new facilities will be added to the infrastructure of the National Tourist Zone - an Oceanarium, a multifunctional sports complex constructed by Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Union of Turkmenistan, as well as the magnificent soon-to-be-completed Congress Centre. In the course of the boat travel, surveying the navigable artery banks, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov focused on the creation of “green belt” of “Avaza”, which along with healthful fresh air would provide in the National Tourist Zone a favorable microclimate, comfortable ecological environment, spirit-stirring and health-promoting atmospheres for the travellers. Not the least significant in that scheme is also an aesthetic aspect and involvement of advanced achievements and the best world experience in the landscaping and garden-park designing industry. Indeed, the sea “specificity” of National Tourist Zone envisions creation of every condition for water sports, such as windsurfing, surfing, sailing, etc. In this respect, “Ýelken” Yacht Club gives ample opportunities to vacationers. Moreover, the Avaza River has the conditions for holding other sporting events, including canoeing, padding, sailing regattas. After the boat trip, the President of Turkmenistan touched upon the theme of the National Tourist Zone prospective development. As the head of state has emphasized, a primary purpose of creating the “Avaza” zone is to unleash huge untapped recreational potential of the coastland, to ensure the most comfortable hospitality services and conditions for the citizens of Turkmenistan. Since implementation of this grand project, an impressive body of work had been accomplished there – over few years alone, the gorgeous and originally-architectural hotels and multi-profile resort and recreation centers for children and adults have been built in the shores of ancient Khazar, providing the numerous guests with a broad range of round-the-year modern hospitality services. New infrastructure facilities currently under construction in Avaza will enable even more people to have comfortable vacations at the seaside. In this regard, the leader of nation noted the importance of ensuring excellent quality of all ongoing works and their timely completion, as well as the need to maintain the existing hotels and resorts in proper operating condition. In this context, the President of Turkmenistan has placed heavy stress on the key trends of “Avaza” future development: active introduction of new technologies and engineering developments; application of the original architectural and design solutions; high environmental standards of construction; and integrated approach to tackling of all the issue-related tasks. Thereupon, the leader of nation paid special attention to such aspect as harmonious dovetailing of the architectural ensemble of the National Tourist Zone with the local natural landscape and environment. Pending the subject, among the priority tasks, the head of state has combined providing of quality-of-service improvements to the population and well-organized transport servicing. Creation of all conditions for high-standard interesting recreation and vacations, healthy and useful leisure time, including water and other sports, is regarded as a significant factor for turning “Avaza” into the center of attraction for tourists from different corners of the world, noted the leader of nation. Then, after saying goodbye to the people assembled, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov left the venue.
