On April 8, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India Mrs. Sushma Swaraj. At the meeting, special consideration was given to practical realization of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline construction project, which is destined to make a weighty contribution to the stable socio-economic development of Asian countries, and on the whole, to facilitate strengthening of global energy security, having become a true bridge of peace, friendship and long-term cooperation on the continent of Eurasia. In the course of discussion on the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, the parties noted with satisfaction the by-now tendency towards the fruitful Turkmen-Indian mutually beneficial cooperation advancement in all areas. The evergrowing dynamics of trade-economic and humanitarian-cultural cooperation, the potentialities available for interaction in the field of modern information technologies were also underlined. In conclusion of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of India expressed confidence in further successful development of the Turkmen-Indian dialogue – both in the bilateral and multilateral format within authoritative international organizations and agencies, having addressed their best wishes to the two countries’ peoples.
