On April 8, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Germany to Turkmenistan Mr. Helmut-Wolfgang Brett, who was completing his diplomatic mission in our country. Deeply appreciative to the head of state and the entire Turkmen people of the warm hospitality extended during all those years, the diplomat has emphasized special significance attached by Germany to strengthening of the traditional bonds of friendship and fruitful cooperation with independent neutral Turkmenistan, which is steadily proceeding along the path of progressive reforms and transformations. Applauding the steady-state high level of the constructive Turkmen-German dialogue, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov thanked Mr. Helmut-Wolfgang Brett for his personal significant contribution to strengthening of the modern interstate relations built on the solid foundation of friendship and mutually beneficial partnership. In the course of an exchange of opinions on the current state and prospects of cooperation, which is successfully developing both in the bilateral and multilateral format, first of all, within authoritative international organizations and agencies, the head of Turkmenistan and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany noted with satisfaction the by-now high level of the Turkmen-German relations in the political and cultural-humanitarian spheres, particularly in the health care and medical industry, in which extensive positive experience of interaction had been accumulated. Confirming the two countries’ mutual readiness for further intensification of the interstate relations, the head of state and his guest outlined the economic sphere, science, education, culture and many other sectors as priority areas for cooperation. Saying goodbye, the Ambassador of Germany once again expressed his sincere gratitude to the Turkmen leader for the assistance and support rendered during all those years, which had contributed to his more successful activity as the head of diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan.
