On April 12, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, who was on a visit to the Republic of Korea to take part in the VII World Water Forum, met with Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco Abdelilah Benkirane. Having expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss the priority aspects of bilateral partnership during the personal meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco focused on the key areas of mutually advantageous cooperation, given the accumulated experience and multi-aspect potential available. In the course of the meeting, Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane gave a high appraisal to Turkmenistan’s peace policy based on the principles of positive neutrality, which had become an important factor of stability in the Central Asian region. The head of government of the Kingdom of Morocco also expressed full support for the constructive international initiatives of the head of Turkmen state, successively put forward from the rostrum of the United Nations and aimed at maintaining global peace and security, joining efforts to solve economic, social and environmental issues. During the meeting, the parties noted the two countries’ interest in establishing all-round cooperation, and concretized the priorities of mutually advantageous partnership. The sphere of investments, the trade-economic field, the recreation and tourist industry were outlined among promising areas of partnership. Placing special emphasis on the willingness to advance a humanitarian dialogue, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane spoke in favor of strengthening and expanding cultural, scientific and educational contacts between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Morocco. Concluding the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the Turkmen-Moroccan relations would successfully develop on the basis of goodwill of the two friendly countries’ peoples and the potential available for interstate cooperation.
