On August 17, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel Mr. Yitzhak Carmel Kagan who presented credentials to the head of the Turkmen state. During the exchange of views on the current state and prospects for cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats in the frames of large international organizations and authoritative structures, primarily the United Nations, the head of Turkmenistan and the Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel expressed the two countries’ interest in intensifying collaboration. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the leader of nation extended invitation to the top leadership of the State of Israel to participate in the forthcoming international conference to be held in this year’s December within the scope of the jubilee celebrations on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutral status. In addition to the upward expansion of the diplomatic, trade and economic dialogue, the importance has been accentuated of intensifying the interstate connections in the humanitarian sphere, in particular, in science, culture, education, health care, sports, and tourism. Separate subject of discussion was the prospects for cooperation in the agriculture and irrigation. In this regard, the Ambassador emphasized that Israel is ready to make available to Turkmenistan its solid experience, know-how and best practices the country accumulated in the field of purification, desalination and rational use of water resources. Once again thanking the President of Turkmenistan for the opportunity of a personal meeting and for wishes of success in his work as head of the diplomatic mission of the State of Israel, Mr. Yitzhak Carmel Kagan assured that he would justify the given high confidence and promote intensive development of bilateral relations, having kept going the embarked course for comprehensive expansion of the interest-based cooperation.
