On September 2, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Turkmenistan Mr. Ralf Andreas Breth who presented his credentials to the head of state. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on a broad range of issues of fruitful cooperation, as well as its intensification in compliance with the two countries’ national development priorities. President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and Plenipotentiary representative of Germany welcomed the by-now high level of Turkmen-German relations in the cultural-humanitarian sphere, in the field of health and medical industry, high technologies in particular. Noting an exclusively business-favored character of the long-standing partnership and availability of the vast unleashed potential for its further development, the diplomat has highlighted that such productive interaction became possible thanks, on a large scale, to the constructive foreign policy course of President of Turkmenistan who pays great attention to the development of international cooperation, including with the countries of the European Union. The clearest evidence of the German companies’ increasing interest to strengthening its positions at the promising Turkmen market is the fact that within recent year, joint projects are being successfully implemented in the key fields of the country’s national economy in association with German companies, tens of which have opened their branches and representative offices in our country. The partnership-based businesses cover the oil and gas industry, textile industry, health, transport and communications spheres, energy and new technologies, the agricultural sector. Celebrating German Economy Day in Turkmenistan becomes a tradition – the event that contributes to the partnership of the two countries’ commodity producers, bringing it to a qualitatively new level. Confirming the business-favored orientation of Turkmenistan-Germany partnership, the head of state and his guest spoke in favor of intensifying the trade- economic cooperation in a wide range of areas. They have also stressed the importance of strengthening and deepening relations in the humanitarian sphere - in science, culture and education, health, sports and tourism in particular. In this context, applauding the productivity of interaction between representatives of science and culture of the two countries, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov informed that in 2017, in the frames of the 2015-2020 State Program of collecting, recording, investigating, preserving and protecting the immaterial cultural heritage of Turkmenistan, joint measures are projected to be conducted with participation of foreign scientists and specialists. In conclusion, the President of Turkmenistan and the German Ambassador expressed their confidence in furthering the constructive dialogue that meets the friendly states’ national interests.
