On September 3, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Executive Director of “Turkmenistan-USA” Business Council Mr. Eric Stewart. Noting the availability of reserves for further expanding bilateral cooperation, the head of state and his visitor have discussed the possibilities for strengthening partnership in the trade-economic sector. As was emphasized, holding of business forums on a regular basis invests in developing effective ways of expanding fruitful relations. The transport sector and agriculture were singled out among the perspective trends of Turkmen-American business relations. Special consideration was given to the issues of expanding cooperation in the energy and financial sectors. Stressing that making very important constructive proposals, Turkmenistan is an initiator of significant international projects on building of transport-communications arteries, Mr. Eric Stewart expressed confidence that it would give many countries an opportunity to get exposure to the largest international markets on the Eurasian continent, as well as additional possibilities for successful integration into the global economy and trade. Speaking about significance of the work carried out by the “Turkmenistan-USA” Business Council, the Turkmen leader noted that strengthening of contacts between the business structures of two countries promotes on the whole deepening of interstate relations built on a long-term and mutuality-based basis. In conclusion, the President of Turkmenistan and his visitor expressed confidence that in the long run, the Turkmen-American partnership would continue to develop successfully.
