On October 8, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov took part in the mass ecological action which was held in the southern part of Ashgabat, nearby the hotel “Yyldyz” where man-made forests already grow and new park has also been laid out. The Leader of the nation launched the next autumn tree planting campaign, having planted the first tree. After the President of Turkmenistan all participants of the present mass tree planting action have planted young trees on the next land plots. Among visitors invited to the action there was Permanent UN Coordinator, Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Turkmenistan Jacinta Barrins. Having planted together with her the another tree, the Leader of the nation noted with satisfaction the fruitful character of interaction of Turkmenistan with structural divisions of the United Nations in many directions, including in the field of science, education and culture, maintenance of advancing social and economic development and also solution of environmental issues and etc. Having underlined the importance and urgency of international initiatives put forward by the Turkmen Leader, Mrs Barrins pointed out that the United Nations attaches great importance to the strengthening of long-term interaction with Turkmenistan which in practice shows the adherence to all its obligations. Another tree the Head of the State has planted with Shaheen Nilofer who is the head of UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan. The regular holding of such mass tree planting actions educate the younger generation the desire to take care of the nature, to live with it in harmony and unity, stressed Shaheen Nilofer. The next sapling President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov planted together with a representative of the UN Secretary-General in Central Asia, the head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Petko Draganov. The Leader of the nation and the head of the UN Regional Centre noted the active position of our country in issues of bilateral partnership responding to the purposes of well-being and prosperity at regional and global levels. Having underlined that achievements of Turkmenistan in the field are visible evidence of social orientation of the state policy, the representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations expressed the President of Turkmenistan his sincere gratitude for comprehensive support of activity of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy. During the event, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov expressed gratitude to foreign diplomats for their active participation in all the landmark events held in our country, a significant contribution to the development of international relations of Turkmenistan in the implementation of ambitious regional projects. The Head of the State marked, that in the embodiment national tree planting program there is also a part of their work, having underlined that noble activities are carried out by the whole world. The Turkmen Leader told that these environs in the near future would turn into a blossoming garden. Besides here a golf court with all necessary conditions for useful and interesting leisure will be constructed. President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov invited foreign diplomats working in Turkmenistan to take part in cultural events and opening ceremonies of objects of different functions on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of sacred Independence of our Fatherland. As ambassadors marked, the present mass action has become not only traditional action, but also the symbol of national support of ecological initiatives of the Leader of the nation, put forward from the high tribune of the United Nations, the example of that scale and consecutive work that is developed in our country for the sake of preservation of nature resources and sustainable development. Upon completion of the action President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov invited all participants to the feast, generous Turkmen tablecloth. Performances of actors - musicians, singers, dancing collectives became the highlight of the celebration. *** In today’s tree planting action about 340 thousand people took part and during the day about 355 thousand trees have been planted. In Ashgabat the number of participants of the action made up about 34 thousand, and more than 110 thousand saplings have been planted. In velayats about 306 thousand people took part in tree planting actions and about 345 thousand trees have been planted.
