On October 27, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov convened a joint session of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council to sum up the results of the festive parade held to mark the 25th anniversary of the Motherland’s Independence and to discuss some other issues of state life. Governors of velayats and Ashgabat also attended the session. Addressing those present, the nation’s Leader stressed that the people of Turkmenistan were celebrating the significant occasion that day, once again looking back at the progress made and enormous work done in the country over the past twenty-five years. “We feel proud that our courageous people have overcome all the difficulties and succeeded in building a modern powerful state”, the President of Turkmenistan said. The highly-organized military parade and Independence Day celebrations with the participation of working population were spectacular examples of what our native country’s had achieved in the twenty-five-year period. During the session, President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov signed documents on awarding the commemorative medal to the leaders of military and law enforcement agencies, who had taken part in the military parade and contributed to the well-prepared and successfully-organized event, and servicemen and personnel of the relevant institutions in honor of the national holiday – the 25th anniversary of the country’s Independence. In this connection, the nation’s Leader assigned State Security Council Secretary, Defense Minister Ya. Berdiev to hold the award ceremony at the “Halk Hakydasy” Memorial Complex that same day. In the course of the session, the Leader of nation also gave the high-ranking officials concerned specific instructions on ensuring a high degree of organization of all the festive events.
