On November 4, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Rozukulov, who arrived in Ashgabat at the head of his country’s delegation. Expressing appreciation for giving him the opportunity to meet and discuss the topical issues of cooperation, the guest conveyed the warm greetings from Acting President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev who addressed his best wishes for peace, happiness and prosperity to the head of Turkmen state and the people of Turkmenistan. President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov sent the best regards to the top Government of the friendly country, with which our country has traditionally close and good-neighborly relations. During the meeting the leader of nation and the visitor discussed the state and prospects of the Turkmen-Uzbek partnership in its key areas in the context of implementing the previously reached bilateral agreements, socio-economic development priorities of the two countries and plans for the future. The transport-communications sector, where Turkmenistan is carrying out a number of large-scale projects of international significance, was highlighted as the important area of cooperation. Having emphasized that the optimal fulfillment of the existing partnership potential in transit-transport sector meets the dynamic development objectives of the whole region, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov invited the representatives of Uzbekistan to take part in the first Global Conference on Sustainable Transport System to be held in Ashgabat on November 26-27 this year under the auspices of the UN. Concluding the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan expressed mutual confidence in further stability of good neighborly relations, and expanding the successful constructive cooperation that equitable to the interests of both countries. The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan Akmalzhon Kuchkarov.
