On November 24, on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, Chairperson of Mejlis A. Nurberdyeva accepted credentials presented by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Turkmenistan Ayalew Gobezie Workneh. During the discussion, the guest was informed in detail about the main trends of Turkmenistan’s domestic and foreign policy, progressive socio-economic reforms ongoing in the country on the initiative and under the guidance of the nation’s leader, and about the large-scale projects, including the transnational ones, whose key aim is the well-being of the people of Turkmenistan and all nations of the region. Special accent was placed on the reforms in the fields of science and education, which contribute to the progressive development of our country, its successful integration into the global economic community and information space, the adoption of innovative technologies in all spheres of life. The Ethiopian ambassador was also introduced to the national parliament’s institutional structure and its legislative activity, and the practice of establishing international contacts. The trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian fields, tourism and sports were identified as the top-priority areas of partnership. *** That same day, the Ethiopian ambassador was received in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to have a constructive exchange of opinions on the development of Turkmen-Ethiopian cooperation, which meets the present-day realities and mutual interests.
