The President of Turkmenistan met with the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group

On April 14, 2025, during his visit to Japan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Endo Toshiaki.

Warmly greeting and sincerely congratulating the head of state on his first visit to Japan, Endo Toshiaki expressed confidence that this visit would give new impetus to further strengthening bilateral cooperation. Having especially noted that Turkmenistan was one of the first to hold its National Day at the World Expo, the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, taking the opportunity, conveyed cordial greetings to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero Arkadag.

Having thanked for the kind words, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also conveyed greetings from Hero Arkadag to the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group and, having congratulated him on the grand opening of the World Expo 2025, wished him a successful continuation of its work.

As was noted during the meeting, Turkmenistan pays great attention to expanding and strengthening interstate dialogue with Japan in the Asia-Pacific region. Currently, relations between the two countries are consistently developing in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

One of the key areas of multilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan is also inter-parliamentary cooperation, which is currently one of the important tools for strengthening mutual understanding and trust between states and peoples.

In this context, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov especially noted the activities of the Turkmen-Japanese Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group in strengthening ties in this area.

Expressing gratitude to Endo Toshiaki for the efforts made to strengthen friendly and fraternal bilateral relations, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the continued readiness of our country to continue working together to further effectively develop cooperation with Japan in various fields.

The head of state also noted the productive activities of Japanese companies in Turkmenistan, their significant contribution to the development of the country's economy. With the participation of leading companies and financial institutions of Japan, a number of large projects in the oil and gas sector and the chemical industry have been implemented, said President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, emphasizing that such partnership continues effectively today.

At the end of the meeting, Endo Toshiaki expressed sincere gratitude to the head of state and Hero Arkadag for their great personal contribution to the development of cooperation between the two friendly countries.
