President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected the progress of agricultural activities in Serdarabat Etrap in Lebap Velayat. When on board a helicopter the Turkmen leader could see agricultural lands in the region where the harvest campaign was in full swing. Agricultural workers are currently engaged in taking care of cotton fields and ploughing the lands released from wheat. The helicopter landed on the territory of the Watan farmers association in Serdarabat Etrap, where the Chairperson of Mejlis, heads of the agricultural ministries and departments and local tenant farmers greeted the Turkmen leader. The Turkmen leader visited potato and vegetable fields and talked to local tenant farmers about the current situation in the region, the opportunities provided to farmers and an impact of these opportunities on farmers’ labour. Addressing the high-ranking officials, the Turkmen leader gave them specific instructions on incentives for farmers’ labour and intensification of the reforms in the agricultural sector. The President visited an exhibition, arranged in the association, which featured a great variety of agricultural products, including vegetables and melons, fruits, vegetable oils, among others. The Turkmen leader focused on the need to take appropriate measures to keep and sell the crops so that citizens in our country could buy fresh products. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that the Food Industry Association of Turkmenistan should develop and use the appropriate mechanisms to purchase the crops from farmers and ensure that the crops would be kept and sold properly. Before leaving the venue, the Turkmen leader presented valuable gifts to rural workers and whished them every success in their work.
