Planned measures for its construction were reported at a meeting of the Government held on May 5. The Head of State ordered to carefully study the issue of creating the border highway Turkmenbashi-Garabogaz-Kazakhstan, which will be the continuation of the high-speed multimodal highway Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi, which in turn will increase the traffic flow and increase the volume of trade between the neighboring countries.

The International Conference on Transport and Logistics has completed its work in the Avaza National Tourism Zone. The agenda of the forum included a wide range of issues to stimulate and develop mutually beneficial partnerships in the transport sector on regional and global scale. The subject of the interested discussion at the sessions, held at the Hotel Berkarar, was development of the railway transport infrastructure.

Today Ashgabat has hosted a Turkmen-Palestinian business forum, which took the form of an interested exchange of opinions on the potential and prospects of bilateral cooperation. Members of the delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Palestine Mazen Shamiya were among those attending the meeting.

Among those attending the conference are high-ranking officials from ministries and sectoral agencies, experts, investors, representatives of international organizations, banking institutions, transport, logistics and shipping companies, and the mass media from scores of countries of Europe, Asia and America.

The versatile exposition displayed at the Expo Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry reflected the various patterns and trends in production of household goods and home improvement services. This includes different types of furniture and interior items; household appliances; carpets; textiles; tableware; kitchen and bathroom solutions; sports equipment; materials for repair and home décor; decorative and applied arts items; works of fine arts; and souvenirs reflecting the national culture.

The dynamic development of the agro-industry is one of the key aspects of Turkmenistan’s policy targeted at enhancing the country’s economic power; increasing the competitiveness of the most important branch of the national economy; improving food security and the country’s export potential. Success in addressing the objectives in this area is facilitated through efficient measures of state support for local farmers.

Traditionally organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), an International Exhibition of household items has opened in Ashgabat. Its thematic areas reflect the level and implementation progress of the national projects, which are aimed at import substitution and growth in exports, and present a wide range of household goods produced by our country’s state enterprises.

Businessmen from Russia, the US, the UK, Switzerland, the UAE, Turkey, Hong Kong, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan among others purchased aviation and lighted kerosene, gasoline, liquefied gas, polypropylene, base oil, diesel fuel, hydrotreated diesel fuel, oil coke, low sulfur industrial fuel oil produced at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries.

The President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree prescribing the government agencies, enterprises and organizations, as well as those with state participation, to give consent to their contractors, delivering at their order the works and services specified in the investment projects implemented in Turkmenistan by legal entities, their affiliated branches and representations, to hire as subcontractors the foreign legal entities, their affiliated branches and representations, as well as the enterprises with foreign capital, only if they have the positive conclusion of the Agency for Protection from Economic Risks under the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan.

The President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution approving the composition of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Ukrainian Commission on Economic Cooperation from the Turkmen side.
