The Avaza national tourism zone hosted a seminar organized by the State Committee for Environment Protection and Land Resources of Turkmenistan jointly with the European Union project “Support to the introduction of Sustainable Development policies – Rational Use of Natural Resources in the Energy-Environment Sectors in Turkmenistan”.

On December 10, not far from the settlement of Bagabat (Ak Bugdai etrap, Akhal velayat), a regular action was held of destroying the narcotic drugs, counterfeit cigarettes and psychotropic substances confiscated in the course of a number of successful operations conducted by the law enforcement bodies in association with military agencies. Organized by the Government of the country, the State Counter Narcotics Coordination Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers, and the Interior Ministry, the event was a tangible evidence of the state’s and society’s readiness to show great resolution in opposing to one of the most dangerous challenges of the present.

On December 10, a grand ceremony of opening new monuments took place in the capital of the country with the participation of the heads of city khyakimlik, representatives of public organisations, numerous townsmen, representatives of young generation of Turkmen citizens.

On December 8, the administrative center of Balkan velayat hosted a grand ceremony of opening a new square with a flagpole for the State Flag of Turkmenistan.

On December 8, the Public Health and Nutrition Center of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service (the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry) hosted a meeting of the Interagency Working Group on “The 2013-2017 National Nutrition Program for the Population of Turkmenistan”.

On December 4, by established tradition, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov together with his grandson devoted the time to the horseback riding outing.

The national Harvest Festival was countrywide celebrated on the last Sunday of November.

On November 22, a meeting of the Central Election and Referendum Committee (CEC) was held in Turkmenistan dedicated to the upcoming in February elections of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as to the results of the recent Mejlis Deputies elections, which were held in the three election constituencies.

“The Korea Post” magazine dedicated its regular and special issues to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence. One of the Korea’s leading publications tells to its leadership about our country’s grandiose success and achievements along with the history and rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, and the main vectors of the state policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov.

A special issue of the international analytical magazine “Atavatan Türkmenistan” is published, devoted to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.
