Celebrated in the picturesque seashore of Avaza last week, the Caspian Sea Day holiday turned to be a particularly spectacular and colorful event.

The next, 8th volume of selected works of Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov -“Towards New Heights of Progress”, is released in the Turkmen and Russian languages.

In the past week, a foundation laying ceremony of a maternity hospital took place in the settlement of Turgundy, Herat province of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. On behalf of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, the ceremony was attended by the Turkmen delegation. According to the Order of the leader of nation, the maternity hospital will be constructed in the frames of the humanitarian assistance program for the brotherly Afghan people aimed at facilitating advancement of the Afghanistan’s health system.

On August 6, according to the Election Code of Turkmenistan, early voting to Gengeshi and Mejlis started in the electoral districts of Ashgabat city: #7 “Gunesh” and #8 “Dostluk”.

Last week, the Office of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan (NRCST) hosted presentation of the collection of international treaties on the humanitarian rights - the Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols to them, translated into the Turkmen language. The campaign was organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and NRCST under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

“Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan” magazine published by the Ministry of Construction and Architecture is assigned to give coverage to modern processes and tendencies ongoing in the national construction and designing spheres.

Last week, the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan hosted a regular meeting of the Inter-departmental Commission for ensuring fulfillment of Turkmenistan’s international commitments in the sphere of human rights and international humanitarian law, which was attended by representatives of Mejlis, ministries and agencies, public organizations of the country. The meeting agenda was focused on the issues of summing up the half-year outcomes of work, outlining prospective plans, and others.

Last week, a regular meeting of the Central Committee for Elections and Referendums in Turkmenistan (for short - CEC) was held to consider the issues of preparations progress for the upcoming elections (on August 16) to Gengeshi (local government) and Mejlis in the electoral districts № 7 «Gunesh» and № 8 «Dostluk» of Ashgabat city. The meeting was attended by the CEC members and staffers, representatives of the CEC working groups, national observers, and mass media.

The next issue of the quarterly information-analytical magazine “Tax system of Turkmenistan” (the periodical approved by the presidential Resolution) is released in the Turkmen, Russian and English languages.

The conference hall of the capital’s hotel “Yyldyz” hosted a Turkmen-Korean forum on the water resources rational management co-organized by the Ministry of Water Economy of Turkmenistan and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in our country. The main goal of the forum was - to exchange experience and present the projects and services based on the latest technologies and researches in the sector.
