President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived in the United Arab Emirates on an official visit. In the afternoon, the presidential airliner landed at the Abu Dhabi International Airport, decorated with the national flags of Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates. The Guard of Honour, lined up along the carpet path leading from the plane's ramp, greeted the distinguished Turkmen guest. According to the good tradition, the head of Turkmenistan was presented with flowers. The high-ranking officials welcomed the Turkmen leader at the air harbor. From the airport, the Turkmen leader’s cortege headed to his residency at the Emirates Palace Hotel, where the President of Turkmenistan had a meeting with Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Greeting the distinguished guest, the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister underlined that the current visit of the President of Turkmenistan was considered in his country as an important step towards strengthening the ties of friendship between the two fraternal peoples, and a new page in the history of the interstate dialogue. Expressing sincere gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the cordial welcome and the hospitality, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed satisfaction with the steady development of the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates and the high level of mutual understanding and close cooperation. During the meeting, the sides exchanged the views on the prospects for further enhancement of the interstate relations based on the principles of mutual respect, as well as on some international and regional issues. It was noted that Turkmenistan and the UAE had similar views on the issues of the international politics and regional relations, in particular, on strengthening peace and security on the planet, and achieving the sustainable development goals. That provides a solid platform for building up close cooperation in the framework of the authoritative international organizations, and, first of all, the United Nations Organization that meet the interest of the two states. Thus, being a member of the UN influential structures, our state has worked hard to address the important tasks set to the world community. There is an impressive potential for building up the long-term mutually beneficial partnership in the trade and economic sphere, the implementation of which will have a positive impact on the development of national, regional and global economies. Noting that the next stage of the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline was recently launched, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited the large oil and gas companies, financial and investment structures of the UAE to take part in the implementation of this project. The export-import opportunities of the two countries create the favorable prerequisites for increasing the mutual trade turnover. The regular bilateral consultations and economic exhibitions play an important role in this regard. Particular attention is also paid to the cultural and humanitarian relations, enhancing cooperation in such important spheres as science, education and arts. During the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum with special warmth remembered the previous meetings that took place in the city of Dubai in the framework of the Turkmen leader's visits to the United Arab Emirates that were held in an exceptionally friendly atmosphere. Expressing belief that the interstate relations between Turkmenistan and the UAE will continue to develop successfully, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed the best wishes to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the fraternal people of the friendly country.
