President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the elections of the deputies of the Mejlis of the VI convocation and Halk Maslahaty members.Early in the morning, the Turkmen leader arrived at school No. 68 named after Annaniyaz Artyk. Receiving the voting ballot, the President of Turkmenistan addressed those present. “Today, we take part in the important social and political event – elections of deputies of the National Parliament as well as Halk Maslahaty members in velayats, etraps, cities and local authorities. “We hold the elections at the democratic basis. Two or three candidates stand for a post that vividly proves that the elections are held on the wide alternative basis. Three political parties have taken part in the current election campaign. The citizens of Turkmenistan actively participates in the elections that testifies to the commitment of our society to the democratic processes and the principle of political diversity. “We are transparent, we are consolidated. We have adopted the Programme for the further development of the country in 2018-2024, the main task of which is to improve the social and living conditions for each citizen of Turkmenistan, and I firmly believe that today’s social and political event will undoubtedly play an important role in the programme implementation.
