The ceremony of signing the bilateral documents took place upon the completion of the Turkmen-Iranian talks. The Programme on cooperation in the sphere of culture, arts, science and education between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for 2018-2020; the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on Trade between the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran for 2018-2022; the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on Cooperation in the agricultural sphere between the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of the Islamic Republic of Iran; the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on cooperation in the sphere of industry between the Ministry of Industry of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran were signed in the presence of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani. The plan on cooperation in the sphere of sports was signed between the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Sports and Youth of the Islamic Republic of Iran for 2018-2019. Among the documents signed are the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on the exchange of customs information in electronic format between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran; the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on the establishment of the joint Turkmen-Iranian Business Council between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran; the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on air transport between the Turkmenhovayollary Service and the Civil Aviation Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran; the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on cooperation in the sphere of certification between the Turkmenstandartlary State Civil Service and the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran; the Plan on the implementation of the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding between the Turkmenstandartlary State Civil Service and the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran. A number of documents were signed between the universities of the two countries: the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Institute of Political and International Studies of the Islamic Republic of Iran; the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on Science and Education between S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University (Turkmenistan) and Firdousi University of Mashhad (the Islamic Republic of Iran); the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on Science and Education between Dovletmammed Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages (Turkmenistan) and Firdousi University of Mashhad (the Islamic Republic of Iran). The Joint Communiqué of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran was adopted on the results of the official visit of the IRI leader to Turkmenistan.
